The long answer… it depends a bit on your needs. Here's what you need to know: both the Ultimate Ears Pro and CSX lines offer identical sound profiles and are built from the same exact materials. Both are handcrafted to be insanely comfortable with custom fitting that molds their shape to that of your inner ear, and both create a strong seal which serves to block outside noise up to a minimum of 26 decibels.
The primary difference between the CSX and Pro models lies in the method by which the earphones are molded to your ears. For the UE Pros, we utilize physical impressions from a professional audiologist. Furthermore, the Pro models are designed to easily and securely fit into a wireless pack for ease of use on stage.
For CSX models, we utilize impressions from our revolutionary at-home FitKit, which you can do yourself from the comfort of your own home. We send you your FitKit, you follow a brief app-led process and send your impressions back in. Once we get your FitKit back, we use the impressions to create your own fully-custom pair of CSX earphones.
The CSX geometry was designed for all day wear, so it only goes to the first bend of the ear canal, while the PRO geometry was designed for a few hours of on-stage performance and reach the second bend of your ear canal. Nonetheless, CSX earphones ensure a snug fit that extends their use from the world of audio professionals to the audiophile and casual listener alike. The CSX series also comes outfitted with both a 3.5mm auxiliary cable and a bluetooth cable, both with inline remotes and microphones. Additionally, all cables across both models are fully swappable and can be bought as accessories.
