ADIKA PONGO, one of the leading bands on the European and Italian Soul scene, have been grooving audiences since 1993, combining original songs with enticing cover versions of major funk/ soul/ disco hits. The band performs in Italy’s most important clubs and events.
They performed with Lionel Richie, Norma Jean Wright and Luci Martin (former lead vocalists of CHIC), Robbie Dupree and Italian artists such as Mike Francis, Alan Sorrenti, Niccolò Fabi and many others.
Riding the wave of their “ live” success, Adika Pongo’s first CD came out in June 2011: Groovin’ Up! – Hits 1997- 2011 with the renowned British label Expansion Records. Their new single “YOU” features the warm voice of American Soul singer, Christopher Williams.
Why did you decide to transition from wedges to in-ear monitors in general?
Better sound quality and freedom of movement on stage, especially for the front people such as the singer and the guitar and sax player
What was the tipping point? When did you finally have enough of the wedge?
The first member of the band who made the transition to EIM was our bass player Alessandro who had read about UE in a music magazine.After his positive feedback the rest of the band bought them too.*
How do in-ear monitors fit into your setup? Meaning how do you use them? What’s in your mix?
Our band is formed by 7 people being drums, bass, percussions, keys, guitars and vocals, sax and vocals and a lead singer.Further to buying the UE IEM, we decided to buy a digital stage mixer interfaced with IPads and IPhones.This allows us to be independent from the main mixer and decide to choose our individual monitors set-up.This has obviously shortened and improved the sound-check duration.*
How did they improve your performance?
We feel more comfortable during our performances and have eliminated all problems during concerts connected to wedges feedback and instruments levels.
What is your favorite thing about the product and why?
We have different models of UE used by the group.Each of them has the quality necessary to its own need and instrument.Fit and sound quality are certainly among the first reasons we like them so much.
What are your thoughts on universal-fit in-ears versus customs?
We think that custom-made are certainly better than universal fit. However, there might be a cost-sensitive issue for those who do not want to spend that much on custom-made IEM.

We would like to underline the post-sale customer service and assistance which is very attentive, highly professional, quick and focuses on individual needs.
